This is a large area of lakes that lie between the Vecht river and Hilversum.  They are about a 25 min drive from Amsterdam.  There is also a bus connection (number 121) from Hilversum station.  Stop is "Golden Tulip" and it takes 18 min

We hire Valks from De Uitkijk, Oud Loosdrechtsedijk 237 1231 LX Loosdrecht (tel 035 5823226)  (http://www.uitkijk.com/).  One can park in the church carpark opposite. 

            Each boat costs 72.50 Euro for the day.

            We meet at 10:00h for a coffee and bring our own picnic lunches to eat on the island of Meent at the far end of the lake.  After that and possible a game of boule, there may be an informal race.

            By approximately 5:30 we should be back at the Uitkijk habour and enjoying a beer.  Those interested sometimes go on to eat in one of the local restaurants. 

                    Note that at this location we have to paddle out and moor to bouys before raising the sails.   It is not allowed to sail within the harbour.
